Fortune is placed, not fixed.
For eleven centuries the Jiangxi school has changed what families receive from the land by changing where they live, work and lay their dead. We read the mountain, the water and the compass, set the land against the stars, and show you what to move.
- Ganzhou, Jiangxi the home of Yang Gong feng shui
- Tianxing school, the Celestial Star lineage of Lai Buyi
- Every famous site in China walked on foot
- Readings in English and Chinese
Of the five things that shape a life, feng shui is the first you can change.
An old saying ranks them: destiny, luck, feng shui, hidden virtue, learning. The first two can be read. The third can be moved, and when it moves, the others follow.
- 一Destiny命Set at the hour of birth. We read it in your Bazi, so you know what you were built for and what you were not.
- 二Luck运Moves in ten-year pillars. Read, it tells you when to push and when to wait.
- 三Feng shui风水The land you sit on, sleep on and bury your dead in. The one thing on this list you can change next month.
- 四Hidden virtue阴德What you do when no one is watching. No master can do this for you.
- 五Learning读书What you make of the rest. The courses are here for that.

Master Zhang has walked the famous sites of China: the imperial tombs of Beijing, Nanjing and Xi'an, the clan graves of Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong. There is hardly a great site in the country he has not stood on.
He is a field practitioner, not a theorist. He learned on the mountain, behind his teacher, and he teaches the same way: if you study with him, he takes you up every hill himself. His readings are grounded in what the land is doing, then set against the stars, and he films his fieldwork so that clients and students can see the reasoning for themselves.

Ten days in Jiangxi, on the mountain.
Most feng shui taught in English stops at the compass and the floor plan. The Form School starts with the land. Classroom first, then the hills: follow real dragons on foot, read tombs studied for centuries, and point a site of your own with the master beside you.
- Days 1 to 2Classroom in GanzhouThe five dragons, sand and water, the acupoint and the facing. How to use a luopan properly.
- Days 3 to 5Walking dragons in XingguoFollow ridges from the parent mountain to where they stop. See the guarding hills and the water mouth from the ground.
- Days 6 to 7Famous tombs and Sanliao villageSites studied for centuries, including the graves of the Form School's own masters.
- Days 8 to 9Point your own siteIn pairs, survey a valley, choose a spot and defend it. The master assesses each site in person.
- Day 10Review and certificateA written assessment of your work, and a place in the graduate network.
Start online, at your own pace.
Eight modules you can finish in six weeks, with the master's field videos as the textbook. Required before the field course, useful on its own.
- What the Form School isHow it differs from compass methods and from the interior schools taught in the West.
- Reading landforms from mapsSatellite imagery, contour lines, where a ridge starts and where it ends.
- The four guardiansBacking, two arms, table hill. What good ones look like and what missing ones cost.
- WaterComing water, going water, the water mouth.
- The luopanThe rings that matter, the 24 mountains, a bearing you can trust.
- Yin house and yang houseWhat changes when the site is a grave and when it is a home.
- Six sites read in fullThree imperial tombs and three clan graves, worked step by step.
- Your assessmentA site assigned on satellite imagery. You write the reading; the master marks it.
- About 12 hours of video, English with Chinese terms on screen
- Two live question sessions with the master per cohort
- Marked assessment with written feedback
- Counts US$ 300 toward the field course
What changed
Three readings and what followed, in the clients' own words. Names are changed; the sites are real. We never promise an outcome. We show you what the land is doing and what to move.
“He read my grandfather's grave in Perak from satellite and eight photographs and told us the stone was ten degrees off. We turned it in the spring. My brother's firm, stuck for nine years, signed its first large contract that autumn. Coincidence, my wife says. My father does not think so.”
Stone re-set, April 2025
W. Tan, Kuala Lumpur“Six years of losses in a house everyone said was lucky. He showed us the hill behind it on the map, then the water leaving the wrong way at the back. We moved the entrance and the master bedroom. Four months later the business broke even for the first time.”
Home reading, remote, 2025
R. Lim, Singapore“I had studied flying stars for six years. On day three in Xingguo I understood for the first time what a dragon actually is. I came home, read my own house differently, moved one room, and have not had a bad year since.”
Jiangxi field course, 2025
R. Mead, MelbourneThe land is one of the five arts. Try the others.
Classical learning sorts these skills into five: mountain, medicine, destiny, appearance and divination. Feng shui is reading the appearance of the land. Faces and palms are its siblings; the coins are divination. Throw them.
Hold one question in mind. Three coins, six throws, bottom line first. Heads count three, tails two; sixes and nines are the lines that change.
No cast yet. The six lines will build here, bottom first.
